TITLE: Project Manager
Duties Include:
Manage and Lead new product introduction process through development through various stage gates to achieve commercialization. Manage, lead, and coordinate the activities of the R&D Team by supporting the development and commercialization of new products. Collect, aggregate, and present data related to the business case for Medshape, with inputs from the cross functional team. Apply project portfolio knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to select, monitor and control high value projects on-time, ensure quality and on-budget from ideas and concept through development, launch and project close-out. Schedule and lead regular team meetings and determine objectives and measures upon which the projects will be measured and tracked. Lead continuous improvement efforts to maximize effectiveness of current operational tools, processes, procedures and systems to mitigate technical and operational risk and ensure flawless execution of projects. Manage project tasks, deliverables, dependencies and resource requirements. Communicate, document, and archive project team activities and decisions. Act as a primary contact for project team related information. Facilitate project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, ensure alignment with internal and external stakeholders. Exercise scope and change management with consideration for the customer, team, and company needs. Promote a proactive, professional culture contributing to the group’s success. Plan and ensure documentation of products required for DHF in accordance with company quality policy. Provide technical support to sales team, surgeons, and other departments as needed. Ensure accurate technical and process specifications are prepared for Regulatory FDA 510K approvals. Assist in the writing of regulatory applications to the FDA. Communicate with Sales, Surgeons, Operations, Quality Assurance and other Stakeholders directly regarding project activities, design, specifications, and manufacturing issues. Track key performance indicators (KPIs), coordinate projects and support business objectives and strategies to drive growth. Provide reports on project status; provide additional documentation on project as needed. Identify, track, and resolve all project risks and issues. Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of team activities; actively work to recognize performance. Use 2D and 3D CAD to create and or review engineering models with advanced knowledge of drafting standards and geometric differences and tolerancing. Work with in-house prototype shop and outside vendors for rapid prototyping and evaluation. Manage project transitions between functional groups and project phases. Provide feedback to the management on project development and delivery and report/escalate to management as needed. Perform required tasks to ensure all provisions of quality system are met. Understand and strive to meet surgeon and sales expectations. Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs during the project exaction phase. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, biomechanics or related field plus 5 years experience in product development in innovative orthopedic implants and instrumentation.
